Hi Brodders.
The Fire Brigade have just left, but the kitchen is salvageable 😉
Just kidding – wired them in parallel and the clicking has finally stopped.
Thank you so much for the help – you’ve saved me and many others a fortune by the sound of it. Really grateful mate.
Cheers

Front board mod update: I got the two 1uF caps in the post this morning and wired them in series, then linked them to the board with two long wires replacing C1, C2, C14 & C15 as suggesteed.
Guess what – still clicking & flashing. D’oh 😕
I can turn the clicking off (which is coming from the front board relay) by hitting the ‘vacation’ button, although I don’t want to do this for prolonged periods. Temperature seems fine for now and it still makes ice.
Any ideas would be appreciated 🙂
(Will also try the C2 mod on the back board when it arrives).
Cheers

Thanks Brodders. I’m only up the road (York), so if the clicking continues after the front board mod I might need to book your services & expertise!
Will keep you posted…
Thanks also to Kwatt for the C2 update 🙂

I had this problem a couple of years ago, but until recently it seemed to have cleared after I’d taken the rear board out to examine it.
A couple of months ago it came back with an irritating vengeance – so I ordered and fitted the rear board mod from UK Whitegoods, which didn’t solve the clicking but should help it live a bit longer.
The clicking appears to be coming from a relay on the front board, so I’ve just ordered two 1uF capacitors from RS (£7.51) inc delivery – so will post with the outcome.
Many thanks to Brodders for the advice 😀
By the way, I’d be really grateful if you can tell me where I might source a replacement relay for this board – just in case the contacts are about burnt out 😉
(Mine is an S20BRWW20A/G and the front board has 103-0234 stamped across it).
