Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately I am unable to select a hot wash as his uniform is navy blue so needs to be washed on a 40 degree cycle. I wanted to prewash it first to get rid of any residues of dirt etc before the main wash. cycles on this machine are very long indeed. Yes very strange that the instructions say not to use the middle compartment when it’s clearly there for a reason.
Oh well, if anybody finds anything please let me know. For now I will use a quick wash in replace of a prewash 🙁
