Well – that’s 2 hours of mucking about…. No Joy….
In case we do end up buying one I was thinking about the zanussi TCE7127 which did well in a recent which? report. ( condenser ! ). CHecking the net I can now also see a TCE7227w. Does anyone know is there is any real difference apart from the load capacity (7227 – 7Kg, 7127 – 6Kg )
Thanks in advance

Hi Update. At home now and testing out the dryer. Looked at the door peg – it is at the top of the door. It seems to push a lever inside and operates a microswitch of some sort. Basically I can jam it with a screw driver and things seem to run a normal…..broken but normal.
The problem in detail is as follows. I turn the program to say A, I get a orange power light coming on. This is situated next to the program dial. I then push and hold then start button and sometimes the dryer will start. The green led ( drying ) light will come on and the dryer will run.
After some time ( 1 seconds -5 mins ) the dryer will just stop. Green light goes off and that’s it. start button does not work etc. If I sometimes open and close the door and give it a proper slam shut we *may* get another run out of it.
I’m testing it without any clothes inside but we certainly see the problem when it’s loaded.
Couple of things. Could it be
1) the dryer thinks it’s over heating and shutting down ?
2) the microswitch is tripping and indicating that the door is open ?
3) something in the control box is shorting out or tripping… ( straws/clutching )Everything has been cleaned etc. THe problem does seem to be vibration linked as giving it a good bash seem to bring it back to live.
Any ideas as the wife is looking at a new one and Christmas is upon us. Haven’t got the ££££££ !.
