Re: Hotpoint DWF50 failing to drain

Well I tried running it with the bottom off to see what was going on. I found that when it came to the point where the drain pump was ment to kick in it did nothing!
I have now replaced the drain pump now as well.
I have tried to run it on a cycle and it worked until it needed to drain then the same flashing error lights ((eco & fast) 4&5)! I’m getting very tired of this infernal mechine!
What can be causing the dishwasher not to drain when both pumps are new?

Re: Hotpoint DWF50 failing to drain

    Hi Dave,

I had to bail out the water (well lifted the dishwasher up and put the hose in a washing up bowl)

With regard to the capacitor, I couldn’t find a main motor sold on its own so had to buy the whole motor/pump unit including attached capacitor.

Is there a way I can test the drain pump on its own?
