OK – but both the existing and the new green thermistor are both reading around 3.1K at room temperature. I thought that this was about right ?
How else can I check this out – what about putting a (lower ?) resistor across the green terminals – or even shorting out across the terminals ?
Thanks Wiggy781 🙁

Thanks for the help.
I have removed evaporator fan and tested – works fine, had it running 20 mins plus without a hick up.
Devoid of any further suggestions I have come to the conclusion the problem is with the control board – not worth spending £100 plus on an 8 year old machine.
I am considering replacing it with a large fridge and seperate under worktop freezer. I would appreciate any recommendations for a quality brand !
Cheers for the assistance Wiggy.

The fridge displays room ambient temp.
How do you check that the baffle opens / closes as it should ?
Not sure whether this is a baffle problem as the fan in the freezer does not run exept on initial start up. The problem from what I can see is that the fan is not getting the ‘signal’ to run.
Any further suggestions before I take it to the tip ?…………

The built in freezer thermometer is showing -22, and the borrowed digital thermometer is showing around -24. I note that the evap thermistor is held in a plastic clip – does the end actually need to touch the metal ? What should the resistance be at -18 ?
I have concluded that the fan is good and the door switch works fine. The fan does not run regardless of whether the fridge door is open or not (with the freezer at -22). The fan only runs on start up.
What is the purpose of the third thermistor in the fridge ?
Thanks for your support.

Thanks Kiddo – the test worked, as you suggest the fan ran for a couple of seconds. So as I thought the fan is good.
Where do I go from here – could it be the third thermistor. Everything seems fine – apart from the fact the freezer fan is not running ?
Is the a board problem ?
Thanks again.

Total defrost, internal fan still not running.
Could be the third thermistor ? Where is it ?
All suggestions gratefully received. Thanks.

Thanks guys – I replaced part nos 2601683 & 2600283, these are the yellow & green internal ones – wheres the third and what should the IR rating be so I can check it ?
I did a 24 hour defrost (heat assisted !) though I accept this may not be enough. I have removed the grill in the fridge and poked an 18″ long wire – it appeared free but where does it go to ?
In the freezer I pushed the same wire up the conduit in the top left hand corner. Would the ice effect the fan (which is free of ice) ?
