Re: Bosch SGS4002 – sensor on back of soap dispenser

Thanks for replies and link to parts diagram.

Plausible theory on temp sensor positioning but seems a bit complex to rely on door contact temp to equal water temp. Or is there another temp sensor in the water?

Also not sure about fault codes as this particular machine has no display unless there is a diagnostic socket somewhere?

Re: Bosch WFX3267 Fabric Softener not fully clearing

I want to continue my efforts to clear the black mould from the inlet holes above the soap dispenser. Problem is all the crud will then go into the next wash cycle as that is the only way to get the inlet solenoid to open.

Is there a way to start the machine, wait till water has flowed ino the drum then abort the wash cycle to hurry things up?

Years ago in the days of clockwork programmers, I recall an engineer did something similar and rotated the program knob and overrode the clockwork motor. Made an awful graunching sound but he seemed happy.

Can you do anything similar with modern electronics?

Cheers to nomadpaul and Phidom!. You were both dead right fellas. Cleaned off the gunge adn it works OK, just a v small drop of liquid in the compartment and yes, testing the siphon does prove the point. I need to go back to school on syphons!.

Re: Philipos Whirlpool AWG/01- heat suddenly stopped

Martin – thanks for the info. Heaters were OK (see my first post). All 3 thermostats checked out OK as well but I was grateful you told me where they were.

Fault was badly burnt contacts inside the programmer/timer. I managed to dismantle, clean them up and swop one of the contacts with the opposite pair which were hardly worn at all.

On reassembling the nightmare scenario occurred when the top plate securing the timer motor drive detached and all the cogs and levers spewed out. Fortunately, I had taken some piccies as I dismantled it and managed to get it all together again. Without the piccies, forget it!.

BTW, I couldn’t see any spare timer programmers on the links you gave. Is a spare available in case this repair doesn’t last?

Having read a few other threads (not for this particular machine), I checked the motor reverses at intervals OK

    Model AWG 220/1
Other numbers on sticky label on rear are 8537 220 15110
    and 4213 076 77951. Hope this helps.

BTW, I found another thermostat in the exhaust outlet which tested OK (= short circuit – not tripped)

Thanks very much Penguin: I assume the outer spring clamp has to be released before the whole front panel could be removed?

Re: Bosch Dishwahser water level sensing

    Thanks Superfix.

The tube leading to the air pressure diaphragm is clear. Removed it – blowing in that tube moves the blue rod which then operates the microswitch, so I can’t see any reason for the water level to bounce here?

If the air sensor is what senses the water level, what’s the purpose of the red float chamber and s/w right next to it?

Many thanks for the quick response. The logic of that escapes me. Do more expensive machines behave like that?

    Re: Bosch inlet valve banging

Checked that hose and it was clear. Could it be a sticking level sensor? – maybe that plastic chamber with the microswitch – any suggestions?

    Re: Bosch inlet valve banging

Thanks Guys – but before committing myself to a call out, I would like to have a closer looksee. If the hose is transparent I can get some feel for how bad.

Any hints please on access to inspect the sump ? Presume through the front kickplate area?

Many thanks washman for lightning quick response.
ENR is SGS4002GB/13 other number 19904290216427320331. Water pressure day is 3.5bar, goes to 4.5 night but user instructions say 0.5-10bar.
No problems with valve noise till recently so something changed last few weeks. Should I try partly closing stopcock/ball valve to reduce pressure? There is already a red tapered filter fitted in the inlet hose (stopcock end). Is this a restrictor as well?.
