ParticipantSo, after a little thought, I powered the unit via one of those STC-1000 type controllers set to 1C and put the probe in the freezer section and turned the fridge to Minimum. Lucky me, 12C in the fridge and 1C in the freezer! Presumably the defrost cycle will never happen now, so I’ll have to see how that pans out.

ParticipantThat’s what I was expecting, but when I took the cover off inside the freezer section, to reveal the cooling matrix and the fan, I couldn’t see a way for air to get into the fridge section above. So, I’m left with the theory that some of the cold pipe is behind the plastic back wall of the fridge.
So I’m guessing the fridge temperature sensor runs the compressor and the freezer section gets minimal regulation by running or not running the fan?
Pretty sure you’re right about the freezer getting too cold for me.wiredcharlie

😀
I seem to have fixed it all by myself! What the dishwasher was trying to tell me was that the draining pipe was blocked at the sink end with a plug of lard! According to the manual error code E6 would cover this :rolls:
For anyone stumbling across this thread, what I did was remove the cover below the door, release the drain pump which is held by one screw. Then remove the drain pipe and blow down it.
I suspect that the lard in question had originated in the sink and not the dishwasher.
