I shortened the fridge freezer link in your original post to keep the page width normal 😉

I hope that is the case and all that is required is a refill, to be honest after a decade of service from an ariston unit I’m surprised it has taken this long to throw up a fault!

I got a response from Capital Repairs yesterday and they should be making a visit today so fingers crossed.

Thanks for your input. Is there anything you can suggest I do and how would I ‘un-jam’ the water level control? Cheers.

Re: Ariston LS168 wont switch on

Apologies for digging up an old thread but I’ve encountered an issue with my LSI61 and I’ve been through all the test features as detailed in the very informative post above.

The unit started behaving strangely the other day when it just wouldn’t progress with the wash program. It would start off making the usual noises but there would be no water filling up yet the heating element would activate. After a while I’d open the door to find a very warm dishwasher and a small pool of water at the bottom but no attempt to wash.

I went through with the test functions but found that the long test would ‘hang’ and it never completes. Now it appears I can’t exit from the test mode as there is never an option to start a user wash program.

Does anyone have any suggestions short of calling out an engineer?

    Thanks.
