HI Group plc has set up a new home delivery service, fulfilling its aim to become a one-stop solution for both the B2B and B2C markets in the UK.

HI Group, which already offers a storage and distribution service to manufacturers and retailers through its related company, HI Way Express, believes it can offer a total logistics solution throughout the UK.

“We have been monitoring the Home Deliveries market throughout its volatile history and now believe the time is right to offer this service,” says Andrew Trotter, Group MD

To launch the new company, HI Group has recruited domestic delivery expert Craig Kavanagh. Joining with Craig are Customer Service Manager, Michelle Hannam and Operation’s supervisor, Chris Nicholson.

“HI Group has invested heavily in bricks and mortar, people and technology, demonstrating its commitment to progression and best in class,” says Craig Kavanagh, new Director at HI Way Express Home Delivery.

“I look forward to using this platform to build a highly successful home delivery division.”

The new home delivery service will offer national coverage with a minimum of twice-weekly deliveries to all UK postcodes. The service will utilise fully trained delivery teams, on-line tracking systems and automatic confirmation of delivery by SMS and email.

Utilising all of the resources of the HI Group, HI Way Express Home Delivery will provide the link for a complete logistics solution, offering warehousing, trade and home deliveries with installation included if requested.

  3. was expecting a delivery of a bed by Hi Way on Wed 19th – failed to turn up and the company was in chaos. Rescheduled for 22/12/12 and am still waiting. Eventually got through to their customer services dept. They can’t tell me anything, can’t locate the bed and an hour later have failed to get back to me. Absolute rubbish. The company I purchased the bed from is now closed for Christmas….

  4. Am applauded by the service I am receiving from this company!!!! They have missed placed my furniture in their own warehouse an can not seem to locate it! I’ve had a delivery date set and even a text message to confirm what’s times between, when all along they didn’t even know where the furniture was…. My baby is due anyday which they now and I need the furniture for his arrival.. But even this doesn’t make them do there job!! I’m promised calls back which I never et because they are under staffed .. NOT MY PROMBLEM!! Will advised anyone not to use them! I just want my furniture which I own!!!!!

  5. I was told my delivery would be here today between4pm and 8pm. This is a present for my 3yr old girl who will be very upset if she doesnt get it on christmas morning. I was promised it would be here in time for christmas. I would like to know asap whats happening

  7. Would like to know where my delivery is I was expecting on Thursday.( now Tuesday) just had the same call to say the drivers running a” few hours behind”. Waited until 8 pm and still no delivery/contact to let me know it wouldn’t be arriving.When my order did arrive, it was DAMAGED.This service is a letting down the retailers employing them.AVOID USING HI WAY EXPRESS’ services. The employees are rude and the customer service is no existent.

  8. The delivery day for my parcels was Tuesday over 2 hours late I contacted HiWay express who told me the driver was running late, I waited and waited no delivery. I contacted them again and they said they were not able to deliver today so they arranged for Thursday again I waited and waited. I contacted them yet again and they told me they had lost my parcels (£700 worth). I was again assured after many phone calls made by myself I might add they said the would try and locate my parcels. A phone call again made by myself and they assured me they would deliver on Saturday, my deliver time came and went and again a number of phone calls made they turned up two hours late. Not only have I had an appalling service from HiWay when the eventually turned up 5 days late they only had half my parcel and they had lost the other half. As a result I cancelled my order. Dfs and beds r us use this company and I strongly advised nobody uses them as u be severely disappointed!!!!!!!

  9. I am literally appalled by the service I recived today. I have been waiting for a nursery set to arrive for many weeks (late) from mamas and papas. A deliverly date had been given and a time slot allocated. Perfect. Upon arrival I recived a call from a disgruntled delivery driver who basically blamed me for not being a road map and knowing EXACTLY how to direct him from wherever he was. Even after my husband called them from work and fed them the directions they ended up in the wrong place, I then pointed out a huge landmark (train station) of where they were supposed to have entered. When they came out of the van I was greeted with shaking heads and sarcasm that made me feel like it was my fault and orders to ”where is your lift” this shaking of the head then continued as they threw the products down in my new nursery.DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FROM DELIVERY MEN!!!!!!!

  10. absolutally shocking delivery service iv taked 2 days off work now and have had failed deliveries with no explination at all wtf is going on will be looking at how i can reclaim my lost holiday days from this company NOT HAPPY!!!!!

  11. Poorest service provider ever. Took a day off from work yesterday for arranged delivery. Sent me an email and text to confirm delivery slot. Then called at mid day to say, there was a goof up (blamed the retailer) and it wont be delivered. No apology, no sympathy, no customer service whatsoever. Arranged to have it delivered this morning between 7 and 10:30. Requested first delivery. It’s now 10:30 and still no delivery. When contacted the customer service – again no sympathy, no sense of customer service. The woman – some supervisor says she does not have the contact details of the driver and therefore can not contact him. I have never been so livid in my life. I sincerely hope there are some regulators reading this space and take some action against this horrible company

  12. Well I have to say, read some comments on here this morning (whilst looking for order tracking) and was quite disturbed – imagined not receiveing my fridge/freezer for days. However, it just arrived! Text received 4.30 on the 9th to say it would be delivered on the 10th and 10am it arrived as promised. Delivery drivers were friendly and efficient. 5*’s. Thank you from a happy customer.

  13. Absolutely disgusted the parcel was due Tuesday i changed my might and updated the company i purchased off and order something different. Was told just to refuse delivery and it would be returned to the company. When i refused this morning the driver spoke to me like a piece of trash when i explained id spoken to the company id purchased it off he then goes well did you ring my depot excuse me and before i could say another thing he turned and walked off and told his mate to chuck the item back on the lorry. Rang up and complained to the company i purchased the item off and they’ve emailed and spoken to hi way tomorrow morning the other item is booked for delivery lets see how that goes.

  14. Very happy with this service. Arrived in allocated time and even rang to say they would be nomore than half an hour. Delivery men brought in the furniture and even carried the very heavy items upstaires for me.

I received a e-mail the day before my delivery, stating that they would SMS me before 1900 hr.giving me a time slot, they failed to do this so I had to telephone them in the Morning to find out what was my time slot,I was told that it would be from 10-1330, In the e-mail it also stated that the driver would call me when en-route to give me a ETA they didn’t do this either! And then they turned up at 9-20. Totally useless and I will now think twice about buying anything again from TOWER and EURONICS if this is the service they give.

  16. DO NOT USE HiWay Home delivery!!!!!!!! I have had deliveries form both mothercare and a online sports store and both times had a very bad experience!!! WAS OF TIME COMPANY!!

  17. I think it’s discusting that your drivers delivery the wrong item andWe have to them wait 4 days for the wrong item to be picked back up and the correctItem to be delivered. The tennis table is a hazard to My nearly one year old boy STUCK IN my hallway! My son is one on Monday and the whole purpose Of getting the item delivered today was so that he had his swing inThe garden on his birthday morning! It’s a joke.Your fault the item is wrong so this should be dealt withStraight away. I will not be using you again.
