Featuring over 90 exhibitors from 16 countries, the show is billed as the region’s ‘most wired home technology event’ and is set for the World Trade Centre in Dubai between 15 – 17 May.
Organised by global exhibition organisers Messe Frankfurt, the growth in this year’s show can apparently be attributed to the dynamics of the Gulf’s residential and leisure sectors, worth around US$28 Billion in the UAE alone. Mega-projects such as Dubai Waterfront, Qatar’s Pearl and Bahrain’s Durat Islands are indicative of the great emphasis investors have placed on the property market. At a time when inward investment has happily coincided with high levels of liquidity, the region can expect a buoyant market for years to come, far exceeding the estimated 50,000 housing units currently underway in the Emirates.
Hometech Middle East is the only trade fair of its kind in the region exclusively dedicated to the sector which embraces a whole range of labour saving and hi-tech devices. From some of the most stylish domestic appliances, ranging from refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners, air conditioning units right through to hi-end technology to programme your entire home, the show has it all.
A combination of consumer demand for the best and the latest, along with a need from architects, developers and retailers to satisfy ever increasing expectations, makes Hometech Middle East a ‘must see’ event for all professionals. Whether it’s finding the latest home entertainment systems, white goods or designer appliances, the show’s exhibitors have a lot on offer for the most demanding buyers.
These include major international suppliers like General Electric, the Olympic Group, Miele, Zass Germany, Leibherr Germany, BMI Bertoli, Electrostar, Palson, Teka Kuechentechnik and Siemens.
In addition to eye catching exhibits, the show offers an abundant amount of activities including live cooking stations, product launches and presentations. A new addition to this year’s event is the new Hometech theatre, used by selected exhibitors to inspire an audience of architects, interior designers and retail buyers.
One of the hot items on show is a brand new device presented by TCL Corp, a five in one mobile handset. They say that this is the perfect communication companion for the mobile executive, equipped with color display, an integrated camera, video capability, email and WAP.
In the home appliance arena, a multitude of products are expecting to catch the eye of kitchen designers. The latest stainless steel refrigerators from General Electric; ceramic glass hobs from Highland Cooktops and the stainless steel Iridium double dishdrawer from Fisher & Paykel are just a few examples. For coffee fanatics, the latest machine from Zanuussi help makes the art of good coffee making less of a science.
Other household electrical appliances will be shown at the Olympic Group live ‘show’ kitchen which will have all appliances functioning, running and useable for visitors to see and test out.
Home technology does not stop in the kitchen; home recreation is also a feature of the show with a complete range of hi-tech fitness apparatus. Many home owners are now keen to include their own gyms or keep fit rooms. Major exhibitors Sonex will show them just how to do this with a novel range of gadgets such as plasma screens, sport machines, LCD monitors, massage cushions and portable CD players.
To make home chores an easy task, companies the world over have designed and improved appliances for years. Some of the most functional and time-saving appliances will be on show at Hometech Middle East, whether it is the Upright, Instant Steam system from Amptek or the ECOMOP- the first of its kind in world in respect to Instant Steam Cleaners, built in appliances from Miele, such as dishwashers and washing machines or easy running, exclusive styling iron devices from Siemens.
Additionally, the internationally acclaimed Dyson, famous for the development of the Dyson DCO1 Dual Cyclone, which took the world by storm in 1993 and became the number one selling vacuum cleaner in the UK, will be using Hometech Middle East to launch a product that will once again push out the boundaries of vacuum cleaner technology.
Hometech Middle East will be supported by several trade associations including the Iranian Appliance council; China Chamber of Commerce, Koftra, the Turkish Government; German Exporters Association and the Egyptian Exporters Association.
