The National Asthma Campaign has won the award/commendation for the Best Patient/Public Education category in this year’s Communiqu© Awards.
The free information packs, funded by The Hoover Foundation, were developed for people newly diagnosed with asthma and are given to adults or parents by their GP when they are first told that they or their children have asthma.
Donna Covey, National Asthma Campaign’s chief executive said: ” We developed these new materials because people with asthma told us they wanted more written information on asthma when first diagnosed. The funding from The Hoover Foundation has made the production of these packs possible and has meant that we have been able to supply these free of charge across the UK.”
David Lunt, Trustee of the Foundation said, “We are proud and delighted to have the supported this initiative, helping to improve the lives of the 5.1 million people with asthma in the UK, particularly at a time when childhood asthma has been identified as a particular issue. This is a tremendous achievement for the National Asthma Campaign.”
