Dealers are up-in-arms over a number of problems at white goods maker Hotpoint.
According to dealers spoken to this week by ERT Weekly, lack of stock availability and sales desk staff shortages are among a number of problems at the Merloni-owned brand. The dealer, who asked not to be named, claimed that there is a “general feeling that dealers are totally hacked off with Hotpoint”.
It was in November 2002 that dealers were first angered by the problems at Hotpoint, which came as its then owner General Domestic Appliances, announced a review of its after-sales operation which saw it make a number of redundancies as its centralised its UK-based regional service offices and parts telesales operation.

This echo’s what I’ve been hearing from the builders regarding shortages on products and poor service levels. Some are even considering using alternative brands now.
