Indesit Company’s Aqualtis washing machine achieved a five-star score in the Australian Standard Test’s Water Rating. The Ariston-brand appliance was the first washer to get this top-level score. The unit was launched in Australia in September and has been well received by customers.

Testing was performed in the Vipac Engineers and Scientists laboratory in Melbourne, a certified member of the N.A.T.A. (National Association of Testing Authorities, Australia). The score is more than enough to qualify the unit for Australian government buying incentives. Government incentives are 150 to 200 Australian dollars (approx. U.S. $115 to $155) for purchasers of washing machines with at least 4 stars in consumption tests.

Indesit, based in Fabriano, Italy, designed the unit with a new-generation technology called SuperEco, which signals the user when the cycle that is selected allows savings in energy and water of up to 10 percent, thus entering energy class A+. It also allows a Mini Load function, for everyday washing and designed to provide excellent results even with small loads for saving up to 25 percent water and 40 percent energy. The unit was designed by Makio Hasuike and has a large capacity, up to 7.5 kg.
