The nation’s export of home appliances by the end of the year (Iranian year ends March 20) will increase by 50 percent compared to the year before, noted on Wednesday, Minister of Mines and Industries Alireza Tahmasbi.
Nevertheless, its share in the total non-oil exports from the country is not significant he objected, calling it unacceptable. “We hope that in addition to meeting the domestic needs, export of home appliances and electric equipments grow even more than what it is now.”
In line with the policies adopted by the Ministry of Industries and Mines, Iranian exporters of home appliances have entered into direct negotiations with a number of countries such as Cuba, Venezuela and Syria over marketing the products there, he explained.
“Regarding the household appliances, -good- Quality and ““low- energy consumption rate are the two main factors strongly emphasized by the Ministry of Industries and Mines, Tahmasbi added.
Around $2 billion have been invested in the household appliances industry, the minister further announced.
