Ever Fresh, the vacuum system by Ariston, quadruplicates preservation times The Italians’ shopping habits are changing, as they have less and less time for shopping and cooking.
This is what emerged from a survey conducted by SWG for Merloni Elettrodomestici entitled ‘The food preservation habits of the Italians’, a wide reaching study of how Italian consumers are changing their domestic lifestyles.
KEY DATA:
There’s no time and we go shopping less often. The Italians at the market aren’t what they were ten years ago. They tend to go shopping less often (over 50% shop no more than twice a week) due to lack of time and the increasing desire to dedicate their free time to themselves and their families. It is fundamentally important in fact to shop less often during the week but without overlooking the quality of what’s put on the table.
More quality but also more savings. Over 60% have definite economic expectations and believe that a system such as vacuum preservation will avoid wasting food and reduce shopping bills.
Quality and freshness: refrigeration and freezing are the best known techniques but vacuum technology is making progress too. The Italians say that refrigeration and freezing are the commonest methods but they feel the need for an effective and safe alternative, like vacuum preservation, that guarantees quality and stores food longer, even in the fridge.
Over 70% of respondents knew that the vacuum system enables food to maintain its nutritive properties and flavours unchanged.
Ariston is the first to introduce the Ever Fresh system in a household appliance.
‘Time passes, flavours remain’. Ever Fresh by Ariston makes it possible to ‘stop time’ and preserve the organoleptic qualities and biological structure of foodstuffs. With Ever Fresh, fruit and fish preservation times are doubled, meat and sauces are tripled and bread and cheese quadruplicated. The benefits are clear in terms of costs and times, making it possible to preserve food longer in terms of both safety and health, by ensuring unvaried quality and reducing the possibility of contamination with other substances in the fridge. Today the vacuum preservation system is guaranteed by an accessory. Ariston has already patented an integrated system that extends the vacuum function to the whole of the inside of a fridge.
Ariston is now one of the best selling brands, with four million fridges, washing machines, dishwashers and cookers chosen every year by European families. In Europe, in fact, it’s the no. 2 brand in the built-in sector, with a market share of 8.2% and is one of the market leaders in Italy with a 25% share. Awareness is very high, its products being known by 94% in Portugal, 93% in Italy, 90% in Turkey, 84% in Greece, 59% in the UK, 53% in France and 49% in Russia.
