The BBC took Harry Cichy back to Dependabilty Square, Newton Iowa to film a documentry on his battle with Maytag over the infamous Hoover flight promotion, the documentry to be screened in March 2004 part of the Trouble at the top series.
The battle has involved Ralph Nader US consumer champian and the IAM Union and not least Her Majesty the Queen on Harry request to see Hoovers Royal warrant taken off Hoover products.
With a book on the events in the offing, ten years on the Hoover flight promotion and severall Million $
Maytag would like to see end? However the episode will go down as the largest corporate marketing blunders of our time.
