Dianne Sharp who was a regional director for the CBI is stepping down from that role to become chief executive officer at leading County Durham manufacturer Ebac.
Dianne Sharp said she has spent time at the helm of CBI North East, overseeing the business organisation through key political events since she took up the post in 2014.
Now she returns to the manufacturing sector in which she has more than 20 years experience.
Led by chairman John Elliot and managing director Pamela Petty, family-run Ebac is Europe’s leading manufacturer of watercoolers and dehumidifers and now manufacturers freezers, following the firm’s acquisition of the liquidated assets of Norfrost chest freezers, and a washing machine line will be officially launched in September.
“I join Ebac on Monday – we’ve kept it very quiet because we wanted to make the announcement at the CBI regional conference first.
“It’s really exciting for me because, way back when I worked at Mechetronics in Bishop Auckland, we were right opposite Ebac in Newton Aycliffe, so I have known about the company for around 17 years now.
“Ebac is just fantastic. They are a great bunch and I’ve known John and Pamela for a number of years.
“I’m getting involved at a time that’s so exciting with the washing machines lines starting production and the new freezer line going great guns.
“It’s also the reason I am joining. The business is growing and they are getting me in to add more resources to the team.
So far as we are aware service on the new washing machine due to go on sale later this year will be carried out by 0800 Repair who are a well known company within the industry.
