It with sadness that we have to report that Ralph Halford, the long time administrative engine of DASA (Domestic Appliance Trade Association) has died.
Many of us knew Ralph from DASA meetings stretching back many, many years and we would all like to offer our deepest sympathies.
As Sean Delaney pointed out earlier today, “Ralph Halford was a true gentleman.”
Sean went on to add, “He was the one who said the least and did the most. If there was any work to be done at DASA he was the first to roll his sleeves up. He would always be there to attend meetings for them when and where ever required. ”
“He was very involved with the EESTC trying to get a viable and recognised qualification for our trade. He actually taught domestic appliance servicing at his local college which just goes to show that he actually did what the rest of us just talked about.”
“He also took on the roll of admin for DASA and even attended one of our detergent training seminars in Southampton with Rob Dray and myself. He was also supported the notion of UKW and DASA working together. I for one will miss him as he was a true champion for our trade.”
