A little off our usual beaten track but worthy of a mention given the rise of portable washing machines as, this Australian invention may actually be a far better solution for people that like to get out and about and need to clean clothes.
The Scrubba is, basically, a bag that you blow up, put some water and detergent in and scrub clothes clean.
Now, it may well not be as good as a pukka washing machine, we’ll grant you that and it certainly won’t get clothes as clean as a modern automatic washer or as well rinsed but, if you happen to be half way up a mountain or backpacking through a jungle, it’s a sure fire winner needing little resources and no electricity. And, it’s cheaper than a portable washing machine as well, costing only £37 with delivery included to the UK.
All in all, brilliant idea and probably a much better one than a cheap portable washing machine that probably does little (if any) better at cleaning your clothes when you can’t get access to a real washing machine.
