Sharp has added two new models in its French door refrigerator range. The new SJF602SPBK is a 602-litre fridge with a black stainless steel finish while the SJF653SPSSL is a 653-litre stainless steel fridge.
According to Sharp, improved cosmetic features include a stylish silver trim on the tempered glass shelves and a long pole handle in stainless steel. The interior is also illuminated with LED lighting and comes with an external blue LCD display that allows a user to customise functions.

These French door refrigerators incorporate an innovative Hybrid Cooling System which incorporates an aluminium panel chilled to 0°C, located at the rear of the refrigerator compartment. Sharp says that panel’s chilled air is spread evenly throughout the compartment and helps to prevent excessive dryness, uneven cooling and over-cooling.
Another useful feature is Sharp’s exclusive Plasmacluster Ion system which releases positive and negative Ions from vents inside the refrigerator to help reduce bacteria and airborne mould spores.
In addition, the fridges feature a 770mm internal shelf width in the refrigerator section, comes with tempered glass shelves that can easily be height adjusted, and has a lower refrigerator compartment that is subdivided into convenient drawer-type cases.
The split door design improves efficiency as one section can be opened at a time, reducing cold air loss. Other features include express freezing/ice making function, holiday mode, timer, door alarm and child lock.
Sharp’s new French door refrigerators are available in the United States for $4,399 (653L SJF653SPSS) and $4,179 (602L SJF602SPBK). No European information on availability or price is available at present.
