FROZEN food group Iceland yesterday announced plans to axe a further 235 jobs, 84 of them in North Wales.
The cuts come just a year after the company shed 400 posts at its Deeside HQ.
Company co-founder Malcolm Walker led a consortium to regain control of Iceland in February last year – after controversially quitting as chairman in 2001 – and has set about reversing its losses.
Mr Walker yesterday confirmed 84 jobs are to go from the company’s Expert Appliance Care (EAC) Centre at Deeside.
A further 20 posts are being axed in London while 131 engineers around the country stand to lose their jobs.
