Smeg have introduced a warming drawer designed to fit under and compliment their “Classic” range of single ovens. These products seem destined to replace the popular hostess trolleys by offering a neat built-in solution to keeping food warm.
Smeg are clearly targeting people with busy lives and those who like to entertain at home, the CT21X warming drawer is 20.5 cm high and is manufactured with stainless steel finish. It is suitable for fitting directly underneath a 38cm-reduced height compact oven which means both items fit into a standard 60cm aperture. Or, the CT21X can be used with any other full size 60cm oven in Smeg’s “˜Classic’ range with some alteration.
The CT21X can take a load weight of 20kg and features a minute minder with automatic switch off that can be set for up to 90 minutes. The drawer has a 400W heater offering a temperature range from 30-70?÷C, and is fitted with a tangential cooling fan. An LED illuminates when warming is in progress and is visible even when the drawer is closed.
The CT21X is fitted with “˜Quadro’ gliders for smooth operation.
The warming drawer will retail for about £346.00 including VAT in the UK.
