Space Kitchens have gone into administration and been bought over by double glazing giant Weatherseal.

The new owners say they will assume responsibility for all existing contracts and warranties. Scot Brian Kennedy, who is worth £250million, was a director of Latium, Weatherseal’s parent company

Space generated sales of £36million last year but blame the economic downturn for losses. They have made 122 staff redundant at their head office in Blackburn, Lancashire.

  1. Who can I contact re space kitchens via email. I know I am out of guarantee but I am so down about my kitchen. I hate it and been trying to contact someone for ages.

  2. Weatherseal? Other than that no idea really as they stopped trading as themselves almost five years ago.

  3. We were sold a kitchen back in 2005, we we’re assure that the all the cabinet a drawer fronts were solid wood, also the material used the the frame construction was heavy duty marine ply; however, we have since noticed that this is not so, the fronts are all printed paper and the frame is disguised chipboard. We have tried to contact them over the years, but to no avail, I guess that’s like a lot of these company’s now a days, the law is not tight enough on how they behaive, just simply go into administration and start the con all over again!!

  4. I had a Space Kitchen roughly 12 years ago but just like Richard French I found it to be chipboard and had to find a bit of wood to hold up a long upper cupboard in the midst of it. Most unhappily the thin colour is coming off the cupboards – i have had to find round thin plastic to put around all my round handles for instance. Also I had one drawer spoiled by my scratching cat but they said the – not full size – 1 drawer only – would cost me £600. It looked nice for a while but its all shoddy.
