As reported to us earlier today, it would appear that troubled Turkish manufacturer, Teba’s UK Distributor has entered into official recievership which could leave many customers stranded without any warranty whatsoever.
Teba has been plagued with problems for many months with financial woes from what we can gather with the government of Turkey effectively closing the bank that Teba used due to some irregularities financially. This has affected production and many of the appliances have not been produced since late 2004.
This also explains the shortage of spares for the appliances in recent months and, of course, this will do little to alleviate that situation.
Independent Service (ISDAL) has asked that all agents close any calls and do not attend any booked calls, even under warranty, as payments will not be forthcoming after today. ISDAL, to our knowledge, will accept invoices for any repairs already carried out but they have to be submitted within seven days of today.
Affected customers are advised to contact their retailer should they have any queries or faults that occur on any Teba appliance.
Many thanks to Bryan and others that have given me the information for this article.
