Producer responsibility scheme Valpak has signed up Tesco as the latest member of its Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive pre-compliance service.
The addition of the largest UK retailer brings the number of companies who have joined the scheme up to 60. Other companies already signed up include Miele, Brother and Hornby plc.
Andrew Duckworth, projects manager at Tesco said: “We welcome Valpak’s entry into the compliance arena for WEEE. Increased competition will help UK businesses to achieve compliance at lowest cost. We believe Valpak has the right knowledge and experience, as well as a proven track record in packaging compliance.”
