  Overfoaming

Overfoaming is not a fault caused by a washing machine or washer dryer, it is purely down to either the use of incorrect detergent of to overdosing normally of the detergent that you are using. There is no reason that the actual appliance can cause this fault.

A washing machine soap drawer over foaming

  Appearance

Washing machines can sometimes produce high suds in the washing machine. Under extreme circumstances these suds may even come out of the machine drawer.

This is not a fault with your washing machine and no service or repair will solve the problem.

  Treatment

Always use the recommended amount of detergent taking into consideration the water hardness and dirt level in each load. A build up of suds can sometimes happen on heavy fabrics like towels so a wash without detergent is recommended.

  Cause and prevention

CAUSE Oversudsing can happen by repeated overdosing in soft water or low dirt washes.

PREVENTION Always follow the manufacturers recommended dosage taking into account the water hardness and amount of dirt in each wash.

CAUSE Underdosage due to insufficient ingredient which suppresses the suds in the wash.

PREVENTION Always follow the manufacturers recommended dosage taking into account the water hardness and amount of dirt in each wash.

  1. I put my machine empty on a 95 wash with disinfectant to clean out the smell from oily overalls. Overstuding happened and the washing machine smelt like melting electrical cable. I left the machine off for 24hrs and tried to restart on a normal 40 wash but the machine display panel is flashing up f2 but the door is closed. Can you give me any further advice as to what the problem could be.Cheers Mark
