David Whitwam, chairman and chief executive officer of Whirlpool Corp., received a 2.5 percent increase in salary and bonus last year.
According to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Whitwam received $2.54 million in salary and bonus for 2003, compared with salary and bonus of $2.47 million in 2002.
Whitwam also recorded $1.77 million in long-term incentive payouts and $31,284 in other compensation, compared with long-term incentive payouts of $643,842 and $31,284 in other compensation during 2002.
Benton Harbor, Mich.-based Whirlpool manufactures applianaces and household products. Locally, the company employs 850 people at its plant in Greenville.
