BENTON HARBOR, Mich. – Jeff Noel, president of Cornerstone Alliance, an economic development organization based in this Lake Michigan city, has accepted an executive position at Whirlpool Corp., the company announced Friday.
Effective Nov. 1, Noel will become the appliance maker’s corporate vice president for communications and public affairs. He will report directly to Jeff Fettig, Whirlpool’s chairman, chief executive and president.
Noel, 46, will step down in October from his position at Cornerstone. He joined the group in 1993.
In a news release, Cornerstone Chairman Jim Tomczyk congratulated Noel on his new job and said his organization was searching for a new president.
Whirlpool is the world’s largest manufacturer and marketer of major home appliances, with more than $12 billion in annual sales and 68,000 employees worldwide. Its brands include KitchenAid and Roper.
