White Knight has issued a safety recall notice on some of its popular condenser tumble dryer models manufactured in 2010 which presents a potential fire risk to owners of the affected tumble dryers.
The official notification is as follows but please do follow the tumble dryer safety advice.
NOTE: Please do not ask us about whether your dryer is or is not safe as we do not have this information, you must contact White Knight to have that determined.
We only supply spare parts and publish relevant news articles, we are not responsible in any way for repairs, modification or recalls to any make of tumble dryer.
It has been necessary for us to issue a safety notice regarding a number of White Knight Tumble dryers manufactured in 2010. This safety notice only affects the specific condenser dryer models listed and does not affect the rest of the White Knight tumble dryer range.

The Problem
It has come to our attention that a purchased connector component has been supplied to us which is not to our specification and that this has been fitted to 1800 White Knight Condenser dryers built in Oct 2010. We believe that the use of this connector can potentially lead to overheating of the appliance and if left unresolved could create a potential fire hazard over time. We wish to find all of the affected dryers which lie within the serial numbers below and replace them free of charge in order to eliminate the risk.
How To Check If Your Tumble Dryer Is Affected
We are trying to identify the location of these machines in order to remove the potential risk associated with this connector. First, please check if you have one of the models listed above, and if so, please check whether your appliance has a serial number from the following list of potentially affected batches (the model and serial number can be found inside the door of your dryer as shown in the diagram).
What To Do If Your Tumble Dryer Is Affected
If your dryer has a serial number within any of the affected batches, please stop using it and disconnect it from the mains outlet as a precautionary measure, and call us on the following telephone number in order for us to arrange for your dryer to be replaced free of charge.

They are ridiculously horrible in resolving my issue. They cannot tell if my dryer is affected as the sticker which is located inside the dryer door has come off and the serial is not written anywhere else on the machine. Phone calls go unanswered, they have informed me that a Whirlpool rep would come out two weeks ago, and still nothing. They were to call back tonight, but nothing again. I can’t use my dryer in case it catches fire, it’s been a month and I see no end in site. I would never buy a product from them again!
Could you please confirm that my White Knight drier model number 0312 76A 15002 with serial number 1010859711 does not contain the potentially faulty ‘connector’ which could cause overheating and possible subsequent fire.Many thanks Phil Sanders

I have tried phoning white knight on the number provided regarding faulty tumbledrier, 0312 76A 15002 (77AW). Having recieved advice from the Electrical Safety Council this morning to contact White Knight by phone, The number 0800 952 1101 is not working, please advise. Hi, I own a white knight 031237215190/21 CL 372 WE 1400W tumble dryer. It went up in flames on Monday 6th July, and I’m still waiting for a reply on what they are going to do about it. My number was not on the list, but there is more model numbers on the list that they have not released. CL 300 -400 have been affected. All you can really do is get someone to look at it for you. Or repair it yourself.
If it is not covered under this recall then the manufacturer will not repair it for free, no chance of that I am afraid.

hi i was looking on the website as i used my tumble a few weeks ago and could smell burning. All the back of it has scorch marks. Dangerous when i have 2 young children in the house! Model number 0312 372 15190/23. Has this been recalled?

If the model is not listed above then no, it is not recalled. To double check that if you need to you would need to contact White Knight directly.

My white knight tumbler dryer serial number 1040090607 model 0312 44A 15003.had smoke bellowing out and all electric went off in the house so I unplug it and now it is not working.Please could you tell me if it on product recall list. thank you

No, as explained above and in many of the comments here, if your model is not listed then it is not affected by this recall at all.
Should you wish further clarification of this you would need to contact White Knight directly however they will tell you the same and that it would seem you\’ve had a failure of some kind.
