We haven’t really made a big deal of this for 2015, largely because we were afraid of being swamped as last years conference and, the year’s before that were as packed as ever and we were pusing the limits of the venue. So, here’s the first taster of what’s going on at the conference later this month.
With the conference every single year we always get asked, “What’s the agenda?” and, every time we try to explain that we don’t work an agenda as such. We take relevant industry issues, problems and questions and try to shed some light on them and, as often as not, these will literally go to the wire and still be getting finalised the night before the meeting.
While we realise that this may seem a little out of the ordinary it allows a degree of flexibility, relevance and immediacy to anything that we present.
Some things however, we can tell you about.
We can tell you that we will be performing examples of typical complaints to allow people that often don’t get to see them some insight into what call handling and service engineers have to put up with on the phones and in people’s homes. We want to do this in both an informative and mildly amusing manner, it should be entertaining.
This is an experiment and, so far as we know, it’s never been done at a meeting before in the way that we are to attempt.
We can also say that we will be discussing many of the current industry issues that are affecting many companies in the whitegoods service sector such as, the shortage of engineers and trying to understand why that this is and why, this industry is not attracting new entrants. And, is it really true that there are less and less repair companies and, if that’s so, why?
Where is the industry headed and how do repairers continue to survive and even thrive in the marketplace of the future?
As a part of this we will be looking to get some insight on the market in general as well in another section.
