Electrolux has revealed a special edition vacuum cleaner created by Swedish designer Pia Wallen.
Commenting on the influence of its Scandinavian heritage, the manufacturer invited the artist to impose her own interpretation on its Ultra Silencer vacuum machine.
The result is an all-white simplistic look, which may evoke comparisons with Apple’s i-Pod.
Using a 1,800-watt motor and optimised airflow, the Ultra Silencer is four times quieter than standard vacuum machines, Electrolux describes on its website.
Other features of the model include aerodynamically designed air ducts to avoid turbulence, sound absorption material, a low-noise floor nozzle and seals designed to minimise leakage.
Electrolux also seeks to make domestic users of the Ultra Silencer happy through the inclusion of a shock-absorbing bumper, comfortable gripping handles and soft wheels designed to avoid accidental scratches.
Pia Wallen explained her all-white design for the special edition Ultra Silencer on the company’s website, noting that the quietness of the vacuum cleaner reminded her of the sound of falling snow.
