Since it seems we’ve done the “mine’s bigger than yours” spin speed race to death the battle in who can have the largest load capacity in a front loading washing machine seems to be the new latest fad. Of course, as we’ve said in the past, often all is not as it may first appear, as explained in a previous article which it comes to load sizes.
But the latest one-upmanship is from LG’s F1443KD 11Kg load washing machine which comes with their usual bling.
Nothing too different on the fascia really but LG are making a lot of claims for this new washing machine.
LG claims that the F1443KD will handle an 11kg wash with a 78-litre drum, but without expanding beyond the normal 600mmm wide dimensions. The machine is large enough to wash 11 bath towels or a king size 10.5 tog duvet.
LG also claim that their use of ball bearing technology reduces vibration and allows operation at low noise levels.
We’d guess that on a real one you do actually have to close the door and the sign won’t be there.
A “Silent Wash” programme gives the “world’s quietest” spin at 52dB, about which LG state “won’t wake the baby whilst washing during the day”.
And, of course as everyone does these days, LG claim that the new washer is “green” by consuming 20% less energy than the current A-rating demands.
No prices are available yet but we wouldn’t expect to see this machine at much under £600 or so as LG try to push their products more upmarket.
