here we go again are you guys ready, then i will begin there are hoover washing machines available in 6kg, 7kg and 8kg capacity.
which are not much dearer than servis but come with a 5 year parts guarantee.
dont take my word for it though as i am biased having been an authorised hoover agent (they dont pay me any money) since the ealy sixties.
they are bult in wales and in my opinion are a perfectly acceptable does exactly what it says on the tin washing machine.
oh did i say hoover are owned by the italians then again there are very few companies which dont have foreign input after all we are all europeans.

hoover increase the load size by making the drum deeper, not by increasing the diameter of the drum.( fact)

With a five year parts warranty, if you’re being charged £90 a call, no it’s not such a good deal. You are, in effect, taking a chance.

But I’d have to say I’m shocked at that price, it’s way too cheap and therefore it is most likely a bag of spanners waiting to happen. There again, that’s pretty much the norm with Servis in my experience of them.

I just had a look at those machines and 8.5kg and 8kg loads, do you really need a load size that big and if so, why? Beleive it or not many of these large capacity machines are not all that they’re cracked up to be, often we get complaints about stability problems and fierce anti-balance controls.

And, if you need it to do piles of laundry then nothing at that price is going to take the abuse.

i personally prefer the 7kg machine hoover obviously but that is a good price for an 8kg hoover
i know that hoover is not everyones favourite but its much better than most of the machines in that price band.
whatever you buy someone will disagree with your purchase.
let us know what you get and what you think of it.
the hoover machines are well finished and in my opinion well built.

Despite the advertising, I agree with Martin, the best way is still to have it professionally cleaned IMO as many of them are specialist items. reading through some of the technical specs for commercial laundry it would appear that they would likely recommend a 10-15kg load drum to do this properly!

What you have to bear in mind is that the loading capacity is given under absolute ideal conditions, I am relaibly informed that professional packers/folders are used to achieve the capacities claimed. In the real world, if you want your laundry actually cleaned then the capacity is WAY below the claimed load size. recently Which Magazine found that the average UK load size was about 2.5kg, yet there hasn’t been a machine that can’t take over 5kg around for years.

So I’d say that, if you really want to be washing huge loads like this, that you’d be far better off getting a big old US toploader from Whirlpool or the likes, but that isn’t cheap. It will however cope with large loads far, far better then any front loading machine.
