ParticipantWhat about this, I am based on the isle of Wight which has UK mainland postcodes but getting deliveries next day has always been a bit hit and miss! Connect has always been the worst supplier followed by Qualtex, but over the last couple of months things have got realy bad with deliveries taking 2 – 3 days I have complained many times to both companies, finally Qualtex changed our delivery over to ANC and things have been much better (thanks to Mark Etherington) Connect on the other hand couldn`t give a s… they have now told us that the company they use (DHL) will only deliver to the Isle of wight twice a week!!! When I said that it was not acceptable I was more or less told tough!!!!
Even our rep (Terry Botto) couldn`t give a rats ….
Does any one else have thes problems with deliveries?

They get worse all the time. At one time they used to ring me to see if I needed anything, had problems etc but this stopped about a year ago. I’ve only had one visit from the rep. in the years I’ve used Connect. Deliveries now usually take 3 days, although that is mainly down to DHL. Trying to get them to deal with returns is like trying to get blood out of a stone. They ignore emails and if you phone they say they will get someone to ring back with a returns number but never do. On my last payment I made a deduction for 3 broken fire bars that they can’t be bothered to collect/credit. 👿

Phidom,
why don’t you ask to be put on UPS deliveries? I’m based in East Scotland (Fife) and the DHL service was terrible like yours. After much complaining to Connect, they offered to put me on UPS deliveries and it has been much better. Only thing I have to watch out for is that if I order after 1430, then it reverts to DHL.Dave

The front page of the Connect site has a big warning re: the currant mail strike, There worried that they won,t receive payments from us in time. Did an order this morning and guess who they sent it with? Yep RM. :rolls:

Good point. Connect do dispatch same day… they can’t be held responsible for DHL not being very good! As I believe it, if DHL fail to deliver next day, and CDSL did dispatch it, DHL will refund you your carrage charge. If this is happening as often as people are saying, there could be quite a few quid there to re-coup 😀

I think people are missing the point, Connect should stop using DHL if they cant deliver, not saying “well its not our fault, we sent them, its DHL Thats to blame” change courier or lose custom!!!!

Perhaps we should start a chart of trade suppliers who state next door delivery but dont – name & shame!
I’m awaiting a delivery from Homespares promised last week – still no show!!!As succinctly put as the customer (awaiting the repair) put to me “Bl##DING WHEN THEN”

To be fair, none of the delivery firms claim to do next day delivery to remote areas such as my AB postcode area. I have several times received goods next day from Masterpart. I would like to use them more than I do and drop Connect but I have difficulty making up £75 orders to get free delivery. I could order less frequently and build up an order over a few days but that would mean keeping customers waiting longer.

Forget the delivery times, it’s Connect’s pricing that I can’t believe. I continuously have to ring them to get parts at the right price, do they listen?
I think they have got to big and don’t care about anyone just their own profits, at the end of the day they will loose out. When profits start to fall then they will look at being more competitive.Part from Connect…….£73
Straight from Bosch…..£68
Masterpart………………£20!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done Masterpart I can now repair another appliance and keep customers happy

Had an order sent in two boxes on the 4th of Oct. Main order arrived next day, the second box (just a grill element, but one which is now holding up two jobs) still hasn’t arrived. What a great service!!!!!
