LG is planning to launch a smart appliances that suggests what you can make with what is in the fridge freezer as well as tell you that the food you stored is no longer fresh and a washing machine that senses dirt in clothes.
“We are planning to launch smart refrigerator in India soon that will have sensors which will read the barcode on whatever is stored in the fridge and will flash its expiry date on the panel,” LG Electronics Executive Vice President and CEO, Home Appliances Co, Mr Moon B. Shin, told the media in Seoul recently
“Its ‘Health Manager’ feature will offer specific, nutritious meal plans and recipes of up to a week based on a family’s profile and medical conditions. ‘Smart Shopping’ will offer online grocery shopping directly from the refrigerator’s LCD panel, or by a smartphone,” Mr Shin added.
He he went on to say that this smart refrigerator will be efficient in terms of power consumption and will be priced at a 10 percent premium compared to other products.
The company also plans to launch a washing machine that can adjust intensity depending on the dirt on shirt.
