We’re still scratching our heads at this one from Little Swan as it’s a bit bizarre. No actually, it’s just plain weird.

Maybe the idea is to catch some Hollywood glitz with the Beverly name (you know, Beverly Hills, get it?) coupled with the evening gowns and tuxes but sorry, it’s just odd. We say the photo and could but think, “what the hell is this all about?”

Little Swan, if you couldn’t guess, is a Chinese maker of appliances and we’ve seen some of their stuff rebadged under own label brands as well as making for what are seen as more pukka manufacturers.

Wading through the press release after getting past the initial reaction we learn that Little Swan are pretty much trying to launch this as a sub-brand, We’ve no idea if we’re going to see these in the UK as yet but, don’t be shocked if someone buys them in rebadged.

Little Swan say that these are high-end washing machine products, including the Beverly II series (the Beverly II pulsator washing machine, the Beverly II drum washing machine and Beverly II dryer), the Smart Hybrid washing machine and the Disney retro washing machine, launched in partnership with the Walt Disney Company.

Uhm, okay then. Based on the Little Swan products we’ve come across we’re not quite prepared to take that one on trust as, they’ve been at the bottom of the pile.

Ignoring a good bit of the blurb we get to this nugget, “the manufacturer not only maintained the highly disciplined approach that Chinese artisans have towards its handcrafted goods, but also adopted the advanced European Kimber process as a component of the production protocols. The brand has combined the diamond cutting process with seamless welder technology when building the machine bodies, followed by polishing masters who spend more than 300 hours in polishing the machine surfaces. The highly refined exterior has won great applause from visitors, while the interior components fully demonstrate the power of “intelligently made in China”.

Quite what this means is anyone’s guess but we this what they’re trying to say is that they’ve put some effort into these ones and they’ve built them well.

They also tout the “smart” features. Really though, how can you have a press release about new appliances without the word “smart” own it these days?

One thing is true that Little Swan go on about, you can get good well built Chinese products. But when you do, they cost just as much as everyone else’s.
