KeymasterEverything else appears to be working OK, the drum turns normally, the pump works and everything but the machine just sits still with the pump running when it gets to the spin part of the cycle.
Ive taken out the adjustable spin speed knob and cleaned the contacts – this made it work for a couple of washes but now it refuses to spin again
any ideas or places to get parts and what may be the problem would be greatly appreciated 🙂
John

ParticipantHi John,
This range of machines is notorious for the “pressure bell” becoming choked with old soap and similar sludge. It does not depressurise, so the machine thinks it is still full of water and will not spin. The bell is on the bottom centre rear of the tank.
Pull the plug FIRST.

Tried this tonight although I may not have been forceful enough with the grommet
It seemed to come to an end instead of just going straight through – i didnt want to ram a screwdriver in too hard though incase I broke anything before checking here
Is this likely to be the blockage thats causing the problem, or is it designed that way and I’ll break something by forceing a screwdriver through?
thanks for all the help 🙂

ParticipantRight………
To do this, you should have removed a small plastic bottle with a tube on top? This is the collecting bell and must be cleaned thoroughly. The grommet has a lip turning down on the inside, which will obstruct the passage of any implement pushed through, so be careful. Best way is to actually remove it and wash it.

Yup
took off the bottle and cleaned thoroughly, didnt remove the grommet but gently wriggled a screwdriver around and managed to get a fair amount of slimey gunk out.
First test the spin worked, on doing a full wash it didnt spin again
Then today its worked perfectly for three loadsReally appreciate all the help – I know what to do now in future too

ParticipantNice one …….. Bear in mind that being a digitally controlled machine it has an “out of balance” set up as part of the electronics. Occasionally the machine will not spin due to an offset load. Resetting to last rinse and spin will generally get things going again.

Can’t tell you exactly how to carry out the repair but first unplug the machine :plug:
then remove the back panel…..
if u have any doubts get professional help from repairs@
a 90′ maintenence wash once a month will stop the pressure system getting blocked up in the future.Clyde 8)
