ModeratorCalling to this on Saturday AM.
Customer says it cuts out in middle of cycle, no lights at all then comes back on ten minutes later.
She insists that all filters are clean and actually regularly jet washes the condensor.
Any other ‘known’ areas I need to look at?
Jim.

Well she does breed and show humongous, long haired cats. :rolls:
She is a decent sort and will accept any charges if there is a blockage.

In my best pantomime voice, ” Oh no it doesn’t”
From my copy of the user manual.
Overheating cut-out
The overheating cut-out shuts off the tumble
dryer if the temperature is too high, e.g. because
dust is clogging the lint filter.
• Clean the filter.
• Check also that the condensed water
container is not full and, if necessary, clean
the condenser. See the “Care and cleaning”
chapter.
• The overheating cut-out will reset automatically
once the machine has cooled down. There is no mention of it in the ‘Care and Cleaning’ section either. 🙁
The manual advises cleaning the condensor ‘3 or 4 times a year’. I tell all my customers to do it at least once a month or more and I am fairly sure that this one does.

I was told not and never challenged it even though I did feel it was a bit hands on for the customer to take cover off.I could be due at least £200.00

Don’t get your hopes up…

- Unblock the pump of a washing machine, tumble dryer or dishwasher.
Clearing of blockages caused by overloading, improper loading or inappropriate items from the drum.
Clear lint from tumble dryersAnd, here’s the thing…
If you are only supposed to be tumble drying “clean” laundry then how come there’s all this hair in it?
And, bear in mind here that I used to own a St Bernard so I know only too well about animal hair.

No mention in the manual about arming yourself with a T10 torx bit, removing three screws and then prising off the fan cover. 😉
It was a bit clagged up, not completely blocked. Cleaned it out but have just had a phone call to say it has done the same thing again.
Reading through the tech info there is a mention of a modification should this problem persist.
Does that still apply to this model?

I found it in the tech info you gave me. 😉
Service bulletin 52-1. In Dry/Service bulletins. 🙂 A total of over 30 service bulletins in the file.
It relates to ASKO dryers from 2002 onwards.

TBH its not listed as a mod as such, more of a fix for problem overheating/cutting out.
From service bulletin 52-1
To counteract the condensed dryers being tripped by the overheating safety
device, and thereby increase the operational reliability, a new Service kit has
been produced as a spare part.
Our intention is that the new Service kit be used in machines where normal
measures have not been effective. It can be installed in the following
machines:May 12, 2012 at 5:25 pm #374725kwatt
