HAD A-NEFF NOW
ParticipantPlease help I’m £80 for parts and none the wiser here……….
My dishwasher NEFF S51E50X3GB/46 beeped which would normally indicate it had finished a cycle, but it had stopped midcycle
On opening the dishwasher the tap light was flashing along with a steady light for the rinse aid and there was water pooled above the level of the lower large drain filter.
I’m technically astute so went through all the motions. I mopped out the water, inspected the drain motor impellar which rotated freely. I did find a small noodle near the impellar which I removed but this had no effect on the fault clearing. The reset function of holding the start button does nothing so I have no functionality to select wash programs
I inspected and cleaned the lower cabin filter. No issues found
Inspected and cleaned the aqua supply mesh filter again no issues.
checked the drain line for obstructions using retractable drain rods. No obvious obstructions foundI ended up replacing the aqua supply hose with the sensor built in, this had no effect
As a final hope i replaced the drain motor again no change the tap fault light still flashes away and i can’t select any cycles
I’m already £80 down in parts so if anyone out there is a professional tech I;d appreciate if you can help me out to get it correctly up and working again.
X-mas is a bad time not to have a dishwasher, I’m going to have to go old skool lolThanks in advance

ParticipantYou may have water in the base which is activating the anti flood device or the float may be stuck.

ParticipantHi after changing the drain pump I checked the base and it was clear of water, the polysterene float was flat and a square sensor above it that was moveable seemed to have play in both up and down so i would guess its n teh down positions. wrg to a float I take it this is what you mean

ModeratorA faulty flow meter, something BSH call an impellor jug is a common cause of this problem.

ParticipantHi thanks for the reply
would this cause the symptoms explained in my original post of having no functionality and the flashing tap light?I’ve searched on e spares but cant see anything matching your description. There is a reed float switch that is it

ModeratorYes.
I don’t have access to the Neff spares site atm but if you go to the official Neff site and put you full Enr number in that will show you which type of flow meter or impellor jug your machine has in it. The impellor jug was superseded on later models with the reed switch you linked to. They are not interchangeable.
Off out for a few pints now, have a good Christmas with the Marigolds. 😉

ParticipantOk thanks appreciate the help. I’ll do a bit more searching and see what I find compatible for my model. Just to clarify this would give the same issues I’ve encountered in my original post?

Thankyou I’ve ordered one last night following your suggestion. I hope it works. I presume it’s located on the LHS of the machine with the fill chamber? Any tips on replacement?
Merry Xmas and appreciate the advice

ParticipantIt’s located in here on my machine on the LHS so I take it it’s replaceable without ordering this whole unit?
