Bloomberg and the FT have reported that plans have been put forward for up to 22 Comet stores to be closed according to sources.
The reports which, for the moment are unclear and do not contain much detail states that the unprofitable retailer Comet is distributing to other retailers a list of 22 stores it wants to sell citing the document. The stores on the list are believed to be in the most desirable locations in the chain, the FT said, citing people familiar with the situation.
Of course this is in line with what is to be expected as the chain is groomed either for sale or to try to pull it back into profit.
