Coinciding with the International Women’s Day, consumer appliances major Electrolux India on Tuesday opened its first all-women outlet here and announced plans to open four more such showrooms in other cities this year.
Electrolux India also launched its kitchen appliances Hobs & Hoods for the first time in the southern markets, after introducing the products in north India recently.
Inaugurating the first “˜All Women Electrolux Home’, Ajay Kapila, vice-president (sales & marketing), Electrolux India, said the outlet, where all the employees, including sales persons and showroom managers would be women, was designed keeping in mind the sensitivity of women customers.
He said Electrolux would open four more similar outlets in other metro cities, but the company was yet to finalise the places.
Kapila said the company’s share in refrigerators stood at 12 per cent while for microwave ovens it was 11 per cent. In washing machines and ACs, Electrolux’s share was five per cent each, he said.
