Domestic & General have announced the winners of their 2008 Total Excellence & Quality (TEQ) Awards, with first place in the main and low volume categories going to first time winners from Scotland.
Kilmarnock based North West Appliance Repairs were overall winners in the white goods category at the awards, now in their 11th year. The company, who operate across Glasgow, Ayrshire and surrounding areas, receive this award in their 10th year of operation. Family company ETB Services Ltd are also celebrating after gaining first place in the low volume category. The specialists, who employ seven staff operational throughout North and West Cumbria, just pipped previous winners GT Electrical to the post. Other firms also commended as top white goods repairers in the country were Chelmsford’s Appliance Engineers Ltd and Domestic Appliance Repairs (DAR) of Rotherham. A Special Recognition Award went to Domestic Repair Agency of Dundee to mark their ongoing achievements at TEQ.
White goods companies from across the UK were highlighted as providers of exceptional customer service. The TEQ Awards are based on customer feedback from over 425,000 questionnaires sent out post repair, making this the largest survey of its kind, serving as a benchmark for high standards within the repair industry.
ETB’s Graham Horsley puts the win down to staff loyalty and going that extra mile for customers “˜The secret of our success,’ explains Graham “˜is that our staff stay with us. We have racked up 110 years of appliance repair between us. Even the “˜youngsters’ have done seven years each. This means that we work together well and support each other. We always call a customer if a spare part is going to be delayed and we ring ahead if there is going to be any delay at all in our call outs. We don’t go home until we have completed all the promised call outs, irrespective of the time it takes.’
