It would be great if we could discuss how you select the engineers that you work with and what 0800 Repair could do in order to partner with you.
Please find below a summary of the service;
· 0800 Repair is one of the largest appliance repair companies in the UK.
· Their specific appointment times include evening and weekends plus the customer is offered same day and next day appointments where possible.
· Their low labour fee from just £60 is fixed regardless of how long the engineer spends repairing the appliance
· All the engineers are subject to CRB checks and their workmanship is backed by a no quibble guarantee.
· Integrated appliances are treated the same as freestanding i.e. no increase in labour feeIt would be great to hear your thoughts on the working with 0800 Repair as I believe it could be a success.
Kindest regards,
Isn’t life grand.

KeymasterRe: 0800 Repair
And I got a call yesterday… Wednesday, about this from some agency looking to promote 0800.
It would appear that they want to push forward with the thing and quite desperately as well.
My job is to try to protect the repairers as much as I can and, that’s the way I see it and, have seen it for a few years. It’s not exactly a position I want to be placed in but, he ho, it is what it is. This sh1t makes me want to vomit, I can’t be doing with this whole, take the charge work away from repairers cr4p as there’s little enough of it as things are. To help someone wanting to extract more of that sort of work from the guys is abhorrent to me.
But, at the same time, I have to play the game.
So, I can’t tell them to just f**k off, much as I really want to. But I can delay them and, afterward, with a little help, can do a bit of negative PR.
So far I’ve gotten away with just ignoring it and deflecting calls (hats off to Nicola and David for that), I hope that’s enough but if it isn’t I will be forced to pander a bit.
We’ll see what shakes out of this but I’m not exactly happy about lifting a finger to help 0800.

I’m not to well educated on 0800Repair, so apologies if I’m thinking inappropriate thoughts 😕
As far as I’m aware, 0800 engineers are franchisee’s? If that’s the case, why not invite 0800 to the meeting, have like a formal introduction: 0800 meet the WTA & Visa Versa? If they are here to stay, might aswell get to know them? We could always offer WTA members to 0800 as back ups if needed occasionally (At our rates of course)!…
Like I said, I’m not to well educated on them, but they do seem to be here to stay…?

0800 is JTM Contracts which is, in turn, a division of Pacifica Group incorporating JTM, CS Solutions, 0800 Repair and others. Lots of fingers in many pies and headed up by Kevin Brown of CSS.
Although you can buy a franchise if you really want to, they have been employing engineers in reality. I don’t think that may of the so-called “franchises” are that, they’re just employed engineers. In essence they are there to take charge and contract work from the independent repairers and use their own enclosed network and they do offer fixed price repairs just as RC do.
I think the plan is to offer an alternative to RC, NESN et all but with a fully controlled workforce of engineers ultimately.
Still think it’s a good idea to talk to them when the plan is to f**k up the indies?

Joking aside, there’s a truck of stuff that I wish the guys would get, even some that think they’re smart. I’m no Einstein but I get it.
Everyone else wants to shaft the repairers.
Th repairers are too dumb at times to see that well, most often not actually. They think that these f***ers are actually trying to help them. Yeah, right… b0ll0cks they are.
What they want is to make as much as possible out the repairers for as little investment as possible.
There’s only one group that has the interest of the repairers at heart, the repairers. End of chat.
Anyone else, the enemy. It just depends on how you want to play them that is in question, the motives are normally pretty goddamn clear if you look beyond the veneer.
The problem is that the repairers are at each others throats and that offers an advantage to those who wish to exploit it. The repairers, meanwhile, are too stupid to see that at times.
I just wish they’d all play nice and get over the cr4p. If all the repairers or, even the bulk that matter did, they’d have the upper hand every time.
But WTF do I know.

Latest from them, sent in on the 26th…
Hi Dave and Kenneth,
I manage the online marketing for 0800 Repair and Co-operative Electricals and I wanted to discuss the possibility of working with you to feature on UK White Goods.
It would be great if we could discuss how you select the partners that you work with and what we could do in order to work with you.
Please find below a summary of both programs;
0800 Repair
· 0800 Repair is one of the largest appliance repair companies in the UK.
o Specific appointment times
o Include evening and weekends
o Plus the customer is offered same day and next day appointments where possible.
· Their low labour fee from just £60 is fixed
o Regardless of how long the engineer spends repairing the appliance
· All the engineers are subject to CRB checks and their workmanship is backed by a 12 month no quibble guarantee.
· Integrated appliances are treated the same as freestanding i.e. no increase in labour fee
· Recently recognised by the prestigious British Franchise Association (BFA)
Affiliate program
· Available on Affiliate Window here
· £3.50 per online booking
· 30 day cookie length
· Telephone cloaking has been implemented on the site (http://www.0800repair.com/?affiliate=yes)
· Currently developing a booking widget for affiliates to utilise.Co-Op, I’ve no truck with and don’t have a problem with either, at all.
But the issue here is 0800 obviously.
As you can see they are offering £3.50 a booked call. Now, over the course of a month that could lead to a good few hundred quid for UKW, possibly a good few grand over the course of a year.
Without talking to Sean, Dave (who got a copy of this) and John I can tell you that they’ll say what I’m about to.
They can make a sentence out of “off”, “right” and “f**k”.
I may offer an olive branch with areas that we have no repairs@ cover but, other than that I am deliriously disinterested in trying to profit through taking work off the repairers. Where we don’t have cover, it doesn’t really matter and if the repairers in those areas are not interested enough to fill in a bl00dy form and check their emails then I guess they deserve all they get. Harsh, I know, but you get the point.
And, if I ever see them pop up in the Google ads I’ll ban them as I have done a slew of others.
Yes, it costs UKW money to do that.
Yes, I know it’s probably very stupid of me.
But, it’s also the morally correct thing to do IMO regardless of the cost to the business.

They must be desperate.
Left a voice mail yesterday on my office phone, sent 2 e-mails and spoke to one of the girls in the office as well.
I haven’t spoken to him (Raj) but tried to pull out of him by e-mail what they were all about, what were they looking for? He replied that he prefers to meet me face to face. I said I will think about it?
The answers to your questions.
As our business model is quite sacred to us, I would like to come and meet you and discuss the various propositions and payments in person.
Please let me know what you think. If you would like to meet face-to-face to discuss these opportunities, then please call me on the number below.
Thanks and look forward to your replyKind Regards

We had a call from the same guy ,wouldn’t talk over the phone ,when Debbie pushed him re rates he wasn’t forthcoming all he would acknowledge was that they will give you a van free of charge ,he then went on to say that he would prefer to meet face to face as then he could ask us to sign a confidentiality agreement before he discussed rates .
