ParticipantHi,
I was cleaning the above earlier and tried to take the lens off the interior light which fell into the oven, with the fitting which seemed to short out, knocking out all power in the kitchen. I reset the RCD thingy but now the oven is completely dead. I’ve puklled the unit out and changed the fuse, checked the plug and done all the obvious things but nothing at all, completely dead, nothing on the display at all. Anyone got any ideas? Is there a fuse inside the oven maybe?

There’s very little info on that oven anywhere to be found but it is extremely unlikely that there’s an internal fuse.
More likely that something has been blown, quite possibly the clock or timer unit by the sounds of it.

That model number does not even show up on Partfinder, the only Ariston oven with an FZ prefix is an FZ65.11X. 😕

Hi,
Thanks for the responses so far. I have taken a pic of the sticker on the side of the oven for those in the know. I have taken the top and rear panels off the oven and as was suggested I can find no sign of a fuse anywhere. The bulb didn’t actually blow which is surprising…

Where did you buy this unit, there is no corresponding appliance that matches that model number or commercial code in the official UK parts software.????

It’s yet another Partfinder cock-up Jim as many spares suppliers in UK stock parts for that model.

It’s a non uk model from the looks of it hence its not on part finder . Guessing some one imported it or a load of them,, I have seen that model before under hotpoint brand but for the life of me can’t remember the model. Do the touch screen light up blue ?
If it’s the one I think it is it has 3 modules. A touch screen one, display and main control module. I’d bet you have blown the main PCB when you earthed out the light

Thanks again for all the fabulous input, it does indeed appear to be very very similar to the Hotpoint SE100PX with just slight differences around the display. The main board is blown, I’ve had a mate check it out. Would it be likely that the main board foe the SE100PX will swap straight into my Ariston? I can buy that part for about £120 and my partner would rather we keep the oven though she is now concerned that the light might jump out again and cause the same problem…

It needs a pre programmed eeprom, you may be able to transfer the eeprom from the old board if it hasn’t been damaged.

The light bulb blowing might put paid to the EEPROM.

The good news is that it appears the eeprom comes pre programmed. Bad news is that knowing Indesit there is a strong chance that there are two different eeproms for each model. 🙁
