ParticipantI see a lot of problems with these machines on the forum. I guess this is just another one to add to the list.

anyone know the fault codes?
Thanks,

“Program selector management error”
Which could be caused by a number of things to be honest.
Engineer time for a fault like this, check the repairs@ link below 🙂

lovely, thanks for that!
One problem solved anyway. Now for part II.
During the course of my leaning what does what in washing machines i managed to twiddle the pressure switch settings. Is there anyway to buy anew one already setup? or is it not a big deal?p.s. thanks again

Yes, you can buy the pressure switch but assuming the “twiddling” was done after the fault occured I would leave it to an engineer to check the rest as replacing it may be an expense not required should the main fault be something major.
If this was done before the fault then it may well be the cause of it 🙂

I think you have an electronic problem to be honest, what’s the first part of your postcode, i’ll check a list I have here for an engineer ?

Would the relay cause a problem for spin cycle? I also get 4 flashes.
The first part of my postcode is BT38 . . .p.s. i appreciate the help!
beginning to wonder if a new machine might be cheaperJanuary 4, 2006 at 10:32 pm #159728a0-0b

i did get £1.02, a sock and a tesco club card out of the machine.
So maybe i can’t expect anymoreJanuary 4, 2006 at 11:04 pm #159729Dave_Conway
ParticipantRe: Ariston Margherita A1635
Ah, sorry the list I have only covers UK Mainland 🙁
The 4 flashes relates to the pressure switch, I’m almost tempted to suggest replacing it and see if it sorts the problems but I’m concerned about other underlying issues but it’s your call 😕
Serial number required to identify it and what type of connections (single leads/multi block plug) please as there are three versions.
Power off at all times of course when checking :zap:

OK … sorry for the short responses before – i was using a tablet PC without a keyboard, which is not terribly good for long descriptions. Here’s the full story so far…
First the wife noticed that the dial was clicking round constantly (which i now know was probably only a blocked drain), so she turned it off and on again to see if it happened again. Unfortunately second time round the hose at the top of the drum (from the inlet) got disconnected and water poured everywhere.
Being the brave (for brave read stupid) engineer i am, i twiddled with just about everything in the machine before i noticed this 😳
The first big mistake i made was to “have a go” at the selector knob, which i managed to taker apart and put back together without noticing anything wrong – unfortunately i also didn’t notice the two spring which provide the power to the stepper motor 😳 hence the first fault (six flashes)
Well, i got that sorted (it was a miracle i could find them) and that’s when it changed to eight flashes ro four flashes. In either case the selector still clicks round and it won’t wash, spin or rinse. I figured that was probably too much for me to handle so i walked away …
Ofcourse, after the weekend i decided to try again (who knows what posessed me) only to discover that the machine now rinses and spins. The was cycles start – but don’t finish and guess what – seven flashes now !! I’m guessing it’s still something to do with the heater, particularily as the water doesn’t seem to be warming and the clubcard i mentioned was half melted when it came out.
Is the heater element easy to replace??
Is it something that’s stocked here??As far as the model number is concerned, on the fron it says A1635, while on the back it says:
A1636UK
Type No: LB2000C

It refers to the heater relay on the main PCB again (similar to F8) 🙁

figures – no heat coming on!
i think it might actually be the element given the melted clubcard.
is this likely? or is it engineer time?January 10, 2006 at 10:15 pm #159735Dave_Conway

Oh Bum 😆
Thanks P45
