ParticipantCant afford to buy a new washer at the mo so been given the above machine.
Are they any good? Im told its in good working order and was only serviced a year ago.
Off work at the mo with a broken foot and half pay so cant afford to buy the ISE10 machine which I will get when I can afford it next.
Any advice you can offer on the above machine.
Is it a 6kg wash load?
Thanks.

Thats got to be between 18 & 25 years old.
They were decent machines in their day, I’d be having a look a the drum rear, the alloy back plate often corrodes through with age. Parts getting thin on the ground now but belts, brushes, door seals and pumps are still available.
If its free and it works then why not. 8)

Blimey Richard. I note your name is c1983, so is that machine.
Bearings and motor armature may be the only things to worry about. Crouzet Timers on those were bomb proof, pumps etc universal, but if the module fails may hard to come by.

got one of these as our loan machine if waiting more than a few days for a special order to come in. the only downside is it weighs a ton. but its travelled more miles than a uk spec haier and still going strong 😈

Obsolete from 1992 onwards, as was the knob front.
Model A3110, perhaps? There’s a label on the bottom at the back.

We had one of those, bought in 1983, gave it to my mum in 1987 and was still working when she got rid a couple of years ago. Brushes were the only thing to ever need replacing. Not sure why my mum got shut …

They were good machines!
Rinsed really well too, if my memory serves me correctly they did 3 rinses (might have been 4) half way up the door and a dilution rinse on hot programmes too.
A neighbour of mine had one and got bored of it a couple of years ago and scrapped it for a Tricity Bendix. You don’t want to meet the neighbour! :rolls:
I really liked the old Hoover machines, particullaly the Electrons , they were built properly compared to the rubbish modern Hoover (Candy) are knocking out.

Ok so the washer has arrived.
Done 3 loads tonight.
Then I put it on a maintenance 95C wash.
All went through the cycle ok but then it came to program G and the timer seemed to get stuck on it, the timer wasnt buzzing or anything so not sure what happened, the machine was full of water and I had to advance the timer on by hand to get it to empty.
Anyway spinning then sounded really noisy (hadnt been noisy all night) and it sounded like the belt was slipping at spin start up… and this was with no washing in.
Afterwards I spinned the drum by hand and there was resistance when I turned it but maybe these older washers feel that way anyway?

ParticipantMy mother had one of those, It committed suicide by cracking its concrete weight and throwing itself across the kitchen in to cupboard opposite in the middle of a fast spin.
