ParticipantHi all
I have a Beko DSFN 1530 – some years old now!
The washer was not producing heat.
I checked the inline heater. One of the thermostats did not pass resistance check.
Changed the heater.
Still no heat.
Opened the washer up again and checked all three resistance. All good. All cables connected. No obvious breaks or discolouration.Ive looked to see if there is a specific reset or similar but no luck.
Before i changed the heater i managed to hold down start and programme buttons and switch on.
All programme LED;s lit up
Press start
It did something – stopped – WASH + DRY lit up – press start – did something – stopped – and etc.Since changing the inline heater.
No heat
hold down start and programme buttons and switch on.
All programme LED;s lit up
Press start
first attempt – nothing
Repeated all.
Made a noise. – then nothing,Thats as far as i can get.
Any ideas would be gratefully received!
Many thanksMay 22, 2020 at 1:31 pm #468950electrofix

Hi Dave
thanks for the reply
I took the door inner off to expose the wiring and the board at the top of the door.
I couldnt see anything obvious. No loose or broken wires, no discolouration.May 22, 2020 at 4:37 pm #468952electrofix
Moderatoryou need to remove the board from its housing and inspect the relay that controls the heater. Both its connections and the relay caseing for signs of distortion and melting

Hi Dave.
It all looks okay.
Tried to upload pics but it says not enough space. Pics are usually small enough when taken on iPad, but it’s not working

Moderatoryes that works
thing can get hit and miss from here partly because you cant do the measurements i can do or at least i would not advise it
The relay may be faulty. failry easy and cheap to source
the power supply to the board may nor be enough to pull the relay in. again another cheap component
the board itself may be faultybefore all this just double check the wires at the bottom of the door. not only the ones to the heater but also the ones to the thermostat
also when you check if the unit was heating did you leave it for a full programme or just run it 10 mins or so ?

ParticipantThe wires that go under the door are in a plastic conduit. As they pass under the door, the condui appears to go behind the plastic trim at the base of the door. Ive not yet figured out how to get that trim off – is that were the wires might be broken? Or somewhere that is accessible via the rear/ bottom metal panel that was removed to changed the heater?
We first noticed the original problem as the contents came out greasy after a completed cycle.
Since changing the heater, I have not let the washer complete a full cycle. I have put the washer on 60c and 70c and let it run for around 15-20 minutes. Each timr ive canceled the cycle as i expected it to have some heat by that point. – shuold i let it complete a cycle? Thanks for your patience.

Moderatorclose the detergent compartment.
choose the shortest cycle but not the rinse only
start cycle and when its full and washing you should hear the detergent draw open with a clunk
if its going to heat thats when it willthere is no need to add any detergent or dishes as its only a test
some programmes start with a cold rinse first so you have to make sure its in the wash cycle. the soap container helps to indicate that

ParticipantThe original heater failed continuity on one of the thermostats.
Yeah, I checked and rechecked the new one, it passes all continuity tests and is wired in properly.

Moderatorhave you checked the wiring to the temp sender which is by the drain pump outlet under the sump
just wandering if you may have disturbed it when you changed the heater
