    Hi,

I have a BEKO WMA 642 W that has developed a fault tonight, can anyone possiblyly point me in the correct direction as to what is wrong.

When you start it on a wash program it takes in water and then dose nothing, I have tried it on rince and it dose the same, Tried it on spin and after the initial drain out nothing. If I leave it in spin it tries to start again after a minuets but again after draining nothing. The drum and motor are free to turn by hand and the pump in not blocked.

    Any idea’s

😳 I know it’s not a good idea but the last machine that had the brushes go when you did this the drum tried to move ant there were lots of sparks to confirm the problem, but nothing this time.

Anyway I have the brushes and yes they are worn down to the limit of travel, and 1 more than the other. They are available on the part bit for £15.64. Could someone please confirm for me I have the correct ones, part number 371202410. Nice to see things held in by the good old Philips screw and not a torxs bit for a change. 😀

By the way what do I clean the contact on the motor with, I can’t remember.

I would watch with the non gen Beko brushes. I stopped using them as they were causing excessive arcing and blowing the motor toc’s.

I will keep an eye on them when fitted, thanks for the tip.

Compare them to your new ones before you fit them. Paying particular attention to the slope on the face of the brush. Some of the copies the slope is too much and causes only the tip of the brush to contact the motor causing overheating. This then results in the motor needing replaced.
