Hello, I have a Bosch dishwasher SMS40T32UK, half way through the cycle it stops and says check water, when I open it the dishwasher is dry. If I re-start it, it works fine, but then it cuts off the same way again. It is not the hose or water inlet, as I checked the hose and the water coming into it is fine (before it this error occurs the water level is OVER the inside filter top, which means when it starts up the water amount works fine). Also for some time now it has not been washing with cold water, so the no water issue may be causing this hot water problem or it may be two different issues. We connected it to the hot water feed recently, hoping the hot water from the house would have it working until we figure out the issue. I have guests coming in 3 weeks so really need to figure this out. Thank you

It is more than likely the heat pump that is faulty if your not getting any heat from it as the check water light comes on for nearly every fault

Thanks Kaibart, So why is the dishwasher empty with no water when the error comes on, after the first cycle before it is finished?

normally if the check water light is steady its a water fault if its flashing it could be anything else

also as the machine goes into fault mode it pumps out hence no water

Thanks very much Dave, now this makes total sense, I do think that light was flashing. Do you know where I can get a step by step guide to change the pump for that model, a video would even be best? Appreciate it!

why would you need to change the pump when it seems to be doing its job

when it faults is the light flashing or steady ?

No I meant the heat pump, the light is flashing and no hot water, so definately seems to be that. BW

ok that can be checked with a multimeter from the access cover at the front

large plug going into the motor, unplug and check resistance where the 2 red wires connect

No I mean is there a step by step instructions or video which shows how to change the hot water pump. I am not that technical savy. Thanks

there maybe somewhere but noit looked

but you need to check its gone. I agree its most likely but you would be sick if you fitted a new one at about £100 and found its something else

Try looking for instructions on how to change a Bosch heat pump on youtube. Very common that the heater part of the motor fails less so the actual motor itself – you have to buy the complete unit = heat pump part number 00651956 part listed at £132.65 Bosch website. Changing it is fiddly.

PS based on model SMS40T32UK/01 version since you didn`t supply the full model number so notice the /01 bit

Hey thank you very much for your help all of you. The machine was purchased in the UK and shipped to the Caribbean. Hence I could not mess around as almost all signs pointed toward the heat pump, I already got that one on ebay, it is being shipped to me. I looked on you tube but can not find any instructions specifically to that model, there are a few others, some seem easy to follow some more complicated so don’t know what to do when the part is here. Thanks and regards

One thing to note with Bosch heatpumps, there are some that look the same and will physically fit, but if you use the wrong one the machine will run the cycle without heating.

So you ordered your part from Ransoms Why have you ordered a part where your machine is not even listed for this motor/ heat pump in the “this part fits models” list?. The part number ransom`s are showing is 12014980 which will NOT be suitable for your machine because you`ve ordered the wrong part for a different set of machines. So to treble check, what is your full model number – your model number complete begins with Enr and is usually lazer etched top of the s/steel inner door towards the left, please check it and let us know. And be quick about it please.
