    Just had one of my two calls for the week 🙁 cancel this morning. Bosch SGS43E0gb/45 with usual no heat problem.

    Apparently in the money pages of yesterdays Telegraph they have announced a potential fire hazard fault on certain/all dishwashers from 1989 to 199~ and will call for free if you have a problem with these machines to rectify it 😕 .

    Anyone had any other info on this????

    There’s a big recall of Bosch dishwasher manufactured in the USA right now, SEE HERE

    Don’t know about any in UK & Europe…. 😕

    Just read the letter which arrived on saturday.

    I’ll leave you to make up your own mind if it’s the heater after you read the first paragraph 😉 Consumers can enter their enr details on the Repairaction site here to see if their model is covered.

    They are going to replace the module in those affected.

    Had to ring for my own yesterday 🙁

    I’ve just scrolled through the list of recent machines where I’ve changed the module after it’s burnt out. All of them are listed on Don’s list (Don, any chance you could email me a clearer version so I can read the Enr. numbers better?)

    There’s a whole mess of them out there if my experience has anything to go by. The thing is that now the announcement has been made official by BSH any independent replacing these modules, and charging for the privilege, could be possibly be liable in a court of law maybe? Also wholesalers surely have a responsibility to inform their customers about the recall notice?

    Dunno….? 😕

    Email should be sat in your inbox Martin. Sorry it’s not the best of copies but the scanner on the printer is rubbish to say the least. You may be able to manipulate it though 😉

    Does not surprise me as I have changed a number of these that have got very warm to say the least 😯

    It seems the recall applies to freestanding and semi-integrated dishwashers only from FD7901 to FD8504 with this module type.

    Have they taken any steps to inform the independent repair sector?

    Just been on the blower to my mother who have this dishwasher but after checking it out, it was not affected. Glad to know that I can sleep soundly knowing that my mother is safe!

    It’s quite worrying that after attending a few of these jobs in the past. Thankfully some of these repairs were too costly to put right and it became BER. Did them a favour in some respect.

    So does anybody know how many machines have actually caught fire and caused damage to the kitchen or worse? Or is it just more OTT elf n safety?
    And another thought. What modifications have they made to the new modules which will be fitted?
